I am a rugby player, and I hate those damn shorts. I don’t understand why they have to be that short, but that is the standard kit so we all just use it

Short shorts and tight shirts mean there is less material for them to be grabbed by when being tackled by an opponent. It also impresses the girls.

I think you’re talking about rugby league rather than union. Shorts in union tend to be reasonably long – they’re certainly different to the silky nylon skimpies worn by league players..

Regulation rugby union shorts tend to be roughly the length of the ones shown in this photograph.

i know, those shorts are too short. But I guess it’s so that people don’t have much to grab onto to tackle you

I saw some shorts at world rugby shop that were longer that I wanted to order just for that reason.

Those short cut shorts were in in the 60s and 70s (look at footage of US basketball players from those periods) but they are not doin it right now.

I love how short the players shorts are nothing better than seeing a strong rugby player showing off his big bulge in those nylon rugby shorts. Mmmmmmm
