Even within that … Even within that group you have, McCaw, Carter, Mehrtens, Marshall, Jack, Williams, Sommerville – who are regarded as some of the finist All Blacks of the last 25 years. AB regular test captains: Thorne, Blackadder, McCaw. I just can’t see Munster beating them…but that is just my opinion
Halfbacks: Marshall … Halfbacks: Marshall, Ellis – All Blacks, Flyhalf – Mehrtens, Carter – All Blacks; Centres: Gibson, Mauger (x2), Mayerhofler, Laulala – All blacks; Wings: Hamilton, Gear; Ralph – All Blacks; Fullbacks: McDonald, Blair – All Blacks. 30 ABs in a decade and this is all of the top of my head…I am sure I haver missed a few. But the Crusaders have always been more admired for the team ethos rather than brilliant individual players…who can we thank for that – Coach: Robbie Deans / Wayne Smith.
